Benjamin Sesko’s first big decision since Man Utd deal agreed shows desperation to clinch transfer and get started

Benjamin Sesko is desperate to get his long awaited move to Manchester United completed.

Manchester United agreed a fee with RB Leipzig for Benjamin Sesko at around 3pm on August 7, 2025. And when that news broke, it emerged that a flight was already booked to whisk the striker to Manchester.

Sesko and his agent were pictured flying from Germany to England at around 5.45pm, and arrived in Manchester at around 8pm.

Benjamin Sesko is now in a hurry

Benjamin Sesko has lightning pace and he is now moving at breakneck speed to get his transfer to Manchester United completed.

Fabrizio Romano explained on YouTube that Sesko had an option to fly to Manchester the next day, on August 8, which he declined.

He said: “Sesko doesn’t want to wait one single minute. There was a possibility to go in the morning on Friday, ‘no, I want to go immediately’, this is what Sesko told his agent and told Manchester United.

“And so Sesko to United is done.”

United agreed a fee of £66 million for Benjamin Sesko, with £7 million in add-ons. It reaches £73 million, 85 million euros.

Romano clarified: “The 85 are almost guaranteed, the add-ons are very easy. Really easy to reach.”

Throughout the transfer saga, with Newcastle pushing hard to sign him and offering more money than Manchester United, a move to the Red Devils was always his top choice.

Sesko will look to complete his medical on Friday and wrap up his deal ahead of being unveiled at Old Trafford on Saturday August 9, ahead of the game against Fiorentina.

It is not thought that he could be on the bench for the game, but you never know, with the speed this deal is now accelerating at.

The striker who did not rush his future

There is some irony about Benjamin Sesko now fast-tracking his move to Manchester United, after delaying a decision over his future for years.

United wanted Sesko when he was at Red Bull Salzburg, but he preferred to take a more intermediate step with his development and switch to RB Leipzig.

Sesko also had the chance to leave Leipzig last summer, but felt an extra year in Germany would be beneficial.

Now he is ready to make his move, deciding to join for what he considers a special club and project, and he is seeking to get it done as quickly as possible.

His desire to sign for Manchester United has been apparent through this whole process, and fans have been won over already.
