Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes perfectly responded to a oddly low Madden 26 rating of 95, four points below the highest-rated players in the game.
Mahomes did not appear fazed by what most would consider a cheap shot, as the three-time Super Bowl MVP retained his rating from Madden 25.
He also stayed ranked as the game's QB No 4, with Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen both given the highest rating of 99, and Joe Burrow two points ahead of Mahomes at 95.
There is a severe signal-caller drop-off after Mahomes, with Matthew Stafford's 88 being the fifth-highest Madden 26 rating for quarterbacks.
'I like playing Madden, so I would like to be rated higher,' Mahomes said. 'But I've got to play and showcase that stuff on the field. I believe that if I go out there and play the football I want to play, we can get to 99 pretty quickly.'
A 95 in Madden would be a dream come true for most NFL players, as only 22 characters have a higher rating.

Mahomes is the second-highest-rated Chief, with defensive tackle Chris Jones receiving a 97.
The 29-year-old goes up a spot on Kansas City's roster, as he was the No 3 Chief in Madden 25.
Travis Kelce falls from the top Chief to No 5 on the team after dropping from a 99 overall to a 93 in Madden 26.
Only seven players were given a 99 overall rating, with the Philadelphia Eagles being the lone team with multiple top-rated players.
Both running back Saquon Barkley and offensive lineman Lane Johnson received the 99 overall rating.
