The Pittsburgh Steelers’ fan base has grown frustrated in recent years after years of mediocrity and a lack of playoff success, which is why the team was aggressive this offseason in making moves to raise the team’s potential ceiling, most notably by bringing in Aaron Rodgers and D.K. Metcalf.
Even though training camp is fully underway, the transactions haven’t stopped, as the Steelers recently signed a former Pro Bowl offensive lineman to add some depth with offensive tackle Calvin Anderson still working through injury.
The Athletic’s Mike DeFabo shared on X that the Steelers have signed three-time Pro Bowler Andrus Peat, who played 15 games for the Las Vegas Raiders last season and has experience at both guard and tackle.
> The Steelers have signed 31-year-old OL Andrus Peat.
>
> A 2015 first-round pick, he made three consecutive Pro Bowls from 2018-2020. He played in 15 games last year in Vegas, with one start. Has experience at guard and tackle.

Peat was a first-round pick by the New Orleans Saints in 2015, and at 31 years of age, he has over 100 career starts under his belt and is capable of providing plenty of veteran advice to a relatively inexperienced OL group.
Mike Tomlin alluded to Peat primarily slotting in at guard, where Isaac Seumalo and Mason McCormick are projected to start.
Broderick Jones and Troy Fautanu need big years as the starting tackles to firmly establish themselves as franchise cornerstones.
The team spent consecutive first-round picks on them, and now that Dan Moore Jr. has departed to the Tennessee Titans in free agency, the path is all clear for Jones to solidify Aaron Rodgers’ blind side.
After a year that featured a lot of uncertainty up front, it’s great that this front office is prioritizing depth at offensive line and is going the extra mile to ensure Aaron Rodgers is kept upright in what could be his final season.
