The Kansas City Chiefs are ready for a new obstacle after losing in the Super Bowl and tight end Travis Kelce is looking to show he is still that same player after a down 2024 season. After failing to capture the Lombardi Trophy for a third consecutive season, the Chiefs seemingly have become more focused.
Travis Kelce went from being one of the world’s biggest celebrities with his girlfriend and pop icon Taylor Swift to being more reserved this offseason. Let’s take a deeper dive into what Kelce said about moving past the heartbreaking loss.

It appears Travis Kelce had no issue shaking off one of the biggest losses for the team in the Patrick Mahomes-Andy Reid era. When asked about moving on from last season’s loss in Super Bowl LIX against the Philadelphia Eagles, Kelce said it was a quick process for him.
“I’ve thrown that thing in the trash. I’ve moved on. It happened sooner than you can imagine. I was pretty focused on this year in the offseason.”
Last season is one the 35-year-old tight end would like to put in the rearview mirror as it was one of the worst statistical seasons of his career. He finished with 97 receptions on 133 targets for 833 yards (8.5 yards per catch) with three touchdowns in 16 games. Kelce was also relatively quiet in the playoffs as in three games he had 13 catches on 18 targets for 175 yards (13.5 yards per reception) with one receiving touchdown.
This is something that could fuel Travis Kelce into stepping back up in the Kansas City Chiefs 2025 season. It will be interesting to see how the future Pro Football Hall of Famer does in possibly his final season.
