Done Deal - Chelsea complete midfielder transfer

Chelsea have formally parted ways with midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who has now joined Everton. The midfielder endured a tough spell at Stamford Bridge and will now try to rebuild his career on the blue half of Merseyside.

A fee of £25 million was finalised between the two Premier League clubs for the transfer of the English midfielder. After just one season at Stamford Bridge, Dewsbury-Hall will be seeking greener pastures.

Chelsea were initially adamant on seeking £30 million from Everton for the 26-year-old, the same figure they had forked out last summer to sign Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester City. The player followed his gaffer, Enzo Maresca, from Leicester City, who had also joined the Blues last summer.

Dewsbury-Hall’s brief stint in the capital

Despite playing a role in Chelsea’s UEFA Conference League victory and FIFA Club World Cup victory, Dewsbury-Hall is deemed surplus to requirements in the London capital.

The player was unable to nail down a place for himself in the starting eleven, and even appearances off the bench were extremely limited. In the Premier League, the Englishman made 13 appearances and featured for just 258 minutes.

Chelsea have been among the top spenders in the transfer market thus far, with their total purchases amounting to £243 million. Without a doubt, the Blues will be looking to ease some of that bill with departures from their squad before the window closes.

With the transfer of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall confirmed, a few more names like Lesley Ugochukwu and Carney Chukwuemeka could soon be marching towards the exit doors at Stamford Bridge.

‘Easy Decision’

Everton’s latest recruit, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, was massively delighted about his new club. The player even stated that it was a rather straightforward decision to join the Toffees, given the great atmosphere at the club.

The player even remarked that the club is heading in the right direction and the supporters should be looking forward to a bright future. The player following signing for Everton was quoted as saying by Goal.com,

“Everton’s one of the biggest clubs in the country, and I think that in the next couple of years, the future is going to be bright. It was an easy decision in the end to come here and play for this club. You look at the stadium — it’s incredible. Obviously, I’ve played in all of the Premier League stadiums, and this is one of, if not the most impressive, so that in itself is a major, major exciting factor for wanting to join.

Then the fan base is one of the most passionate in the country, so I know if we start playing well and I start showing the fans what I’m about, it’s going to be a big, big bonus to help me and the team show our best. So that’s what I want”
