Detroit Pistons: 9-Year Veteran Malik Beasley is Defiant Amidst Controversies, With Latest One…

Summer hasn’t been that kind to one-season Milwaukee Bucks guard Malik Beasley who last played for the Detroit Pistons.

The 28-year-old shooter ended the 2024-25 season by almost becoming the three points made leader but then what happened after the Pistons got eliminated in the first round was a downpour of problems for him.

At the center of everything is his gambling debt. He is currently not affiliated with any team as he is subjected to federal investigations for violations of the league’s gambling rules when he was still wearing Bucks uniform.

Other issues he is currently dealing with is the case file against him by a barber from Milwaukee when he was still playing for the city. It is alleged that he owes local business Cairo Cuts around $26,827. He was taken to court and the business won in January.

Another is a dentist he allegedly owes $34,390.

With all these issues hounding Beasley, he remains defiant. He said the media is judging him without knowing the full story.

“People were saying some crazy things in the media, people judging me. I’ll tell you one thing I have a chip on my shoulder I’m ready to destroy anyone in front of me, I’m ready to prove again I belong in this league,” he said in a Snapchat clip.

Malik Beasley’s problems pile up

Although defiant, he admits he has made mistakes.

“You know, people judge me. Have I made mistakes in my life? Yes. Am I proud of those mistakes? No. I’m human. But, you know, I know what I know. Like I said, my girl, summer continues, you know, until something else is done.”

He better put in work because the battle could get worse for him as he is now involved in another financial mess up and this time, with a fellow NBA personality.

Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gibert

Beasley was reportedly evicted from a high-rise apartment he’s living in in Detroit and this apartment at the Stott which operates under Bedrock Detroit by Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert’s business portfolio.

The NBA veteran, who let go by the Pistons shortly after his gambling controversy, owed them $21,500 and the case has already been taken to court although the player did not respond, resulting in a default judgment being filed against him.
