Manchester United are hoping to sell winger Jadon Sancho this summer after he returned from his loan at Chelsea.
Sancho spent last year on loan at Chelsea, with an obligation to buy. But the Blues couldn’t agree personal terms with Sancho, so opted to send him back to United instead.
The biggest issue with selling Sancho is his wages, as United have said they’ll sell him for around £22m, but the 25-year-old is on a contract of £250,000 per week, a figure that many clubs will find hard to match.
Sancho could move to Inter Milan
Italian newspaper Gazetta Dello Sport report that Inter have identified Sancho as a serious alternative to Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman, who has been a longstanding target for the Champions League finalists.
They report that Sancho is the “name gaining the most traction” for Inter, as he would cost significantly less with regards to a transfer fee than Lookman, who is expected to command a fee of over £40m, with Inter having an initial bid rejected for the Nigerian.
If Inter can agree on personal terms with Sancho, this is a story that could develop very quickly, both due to United’s willingness to sell, and Sancho’s willingness to leave Old Trafford this summer.
The winger showed flashes of his ability last year at Chelsea, making 31 Premier League appearances and scoring three goals, with four assists. Moving to Inter would not only give him a fresh start, but a chance to compete for league titles, and Champions League football.
Are any other players close to leaving Man United?
It is understood that the Blues still see Garnacho as a target to replace Noni Madueke, who left to join rivals Arsenal earlier in the window. Garnacho is expected to command a fee of around £40m, which would be a big financial boost to United in both their transfer funds and in PSR terms.
Last year, the Argentine performed well in spells for Amorim; he made 58 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring 11 goals and providing 10 assists.
Antony still looks far away from a move, as the winger wants to move back to Real Betis, where he spent the second half of last season. However, it is understood that Betis don’t have the financial capacity to match Man United’s demands for the winger, resulting in somewhat of a stalemate.
