Arsenal have underlined their status as one of the Premier League’s financial and sporting powerhouses, with a remarkable 15 players in their squad valued above the club’s record sale of €38 million for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Liverpool in 2017, according toTransfermarkt.

This figure places the Gunners far ahead of their domestic rivals, highlighting the club’s squad-building strategy. Transfermarkt’s latest market value analysis which takes into account performance, age, position, and contract length values Arsenal’s squad at an extraordinary €1.32 billion, second only to Manchester City worldwide.

Among the club’s top assets are Bukayo Saka, widely regarded as one of the best players in world football, and rising academy stars Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri. Lewis-Skelly’s assured displays at left-back have made him a cornerstone in Arteta’s system, while Nwaneri’s creative flair, showcased in his goal during a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest in November 2024, has made him a fan favourite.

Interestingly, Arsenal’s relatively low record sale, the third-lowest among current Premier League clubs means a significant proportion of their squad now comfortably exceeds that benchmark. This is both a reflection of the club’s historic struggles to command high fees for departures and a testament to their ability to develop and retain top-tier talent.

Only four Premier League clubs have players valued higher than their record transfer out, but Arsenal’s total of 15 far eclipses Newcastle United’s six, Manchester City’s select few such as Erling Haaland and Phil Foden, and Liverpool’s standout Florian Wirtz, valued at €145 million against Philippe Coutinho’s record €135 million sale.

The Gunners’ squad also includes big-money arrivals Declan Rice signed for £105 million in 2023 and Viktor Gyokeres (£64 million).

Arsenal’s ability to maintain and grow player value has been driven by long-term contract strategies for key players such as Saka and Martin Odegaard, keeping them secure while boosting their market worth. An earlier 2025 analysis by The Athletic valued Arsenal’s squad at £1.13 billion, with Saka alone capable of commanding a fee north of £100 million.

However, the club’s squad-building success comes alongside financial challenges. Arsenal currently have a transfer deficit of €-216.20 million, underlining the need to improve their return from player sales. Still, with the 2025/26 campaign approaching and the Gunners tipped to challenge Manchester City and Liverpool for the title, their depth of high-value talent offers a significant competitive edge.

Further moves in the transfer market remain possible, with reported interest in Real Madrid’s Rodrygo and Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze reinforcing Arsenal’s ambition.

With an unparalleled number of high-value players and a clear vision for recruitment and development, Arsenal look well-positioned to dominate both in the Premier League and on the European stage in the years to come.
