Wolves officials continue to plug away in the transfer market, and Molineux News has learned the club hold an interest in a Spanish international defender.
Vitor Pereira wants several more new faces in this transfer window, after landing Fer Lopez, Jhon Arias and David Moller Wolfe.
A new right wing-back is the current priority. Wolves thought they’d landed Marc Pubill, but they were beaten to the star by Atletico Madrid.
But Pereira also wants another midfielder, and a forward who can play through the middle and also operate out wide.
Wolves then focused on Juanlu Sanchez, but the 21-year-old is set to join Napoli after failing to commit to Wolves despite an agreement in principle.
It’s been suggested a left-sided defender is also a possibility, with Toti Gomes lacking competition at the moment.
Wolves fans hope some of these positions will be filled soon – and Molineux News has learned of interest in a defender whose versatility could be very welcome indeed.

MORE WOLVES STORIES
Wolves kick their season off at Molineux on August 16 and at the moment many fans think the squad is nowhere near where it should be.
It looks like Ki-Jana Hoever could start at right wing-back, having been out on loan for the past couple of years.
Molineux News’ transfer expert Graeme Bailey has word of interest in a player who could be quite useful for Wolves given his ability to play lots of different positions – and that man is Oscar Mingueza.
He says: “I know they’re talking. Oscar Mingueza they quite like at Celta Vigo. He was on the radar of West Ham and Villa in January.
“The problem is, with him, is that they’re trying to give him a new contract, so that’s not going to be easy. We’ll see where that one goes.”
Who is Oscar Mingueza?
Mingueza is a 26-year-old defender, who started his career at Barcelona having come through their famous La Masia academy, which he first joined in 2007.
He made 66 appearances for the Catalan giants before moving on in 2022 to join Celta Vigo, with whom he has a contract until 2026.
During his career so far, Mingueza has been able to win four caps for Spain, making his debut back in 2021.
Mingueza – who is well known to current Wolves stars Fer Lopez and Jorgen Strand Larsen – is best known for his versatility. He is a right-back by trade, but has had many outings as a centre-back and even played over on the left side.
And importantly for Wolves, he’s also operated as a wing-back.
Him becoming more adventurous as his career has progressed has seen him improve a lot in the final third. Last term, he impressively provided four goals and six assists playing mostly as a wing-back.
With Celta seeking to tie Mingueza down to a new contract, Wolves will need to move quickly if they want to act on their interest.
