Nottingham Forest face new rivals in Douglas Luiz race

It seems as if Forest’s Luiz chase will be one that extends deep into August, with Juventus wanting a replacement for Luiz before sanctioning a move.

One suggestion had Ibrahim Sangare linked to Juventus to help push through the Luiz deal, but Forest fans would rather keep Sangare and see both midfielders starring at the City Ground.

However, reports are now suggesting that Liverpool and Tottenham are interested in Luiz, adding intense competition for the Brazilian, who looks destined for a return to the Premier League this summer.

Nottingham Forest learn Omari Hutchinson price tag

Forest are still after attacking reinforcements after the signing of Dan Ndoye, with Ipswich Town’s Hutchinson a name high up on their shortlist.

The Reds have had an opening bid of £35m rejected for the England under-21 international, the same figure that saw Brentford fail in a move for Hutchinson back in July.

In response to this, Nottingham Forest News revealed that Ipswich want over £40m for Hutchinson so a deal appears possible, but it would involve a significant investment in a player who has yet to prove himself in a top league. Besides, Forest are also pushing to sign a more cost-friendly option.

Dilane Bakwa has emerged as an Omari Hutchinson alternative

The new Premier League season is fast approaching, clearly adding a level of urgency to Forest’s transfer business to ensure Nuno Espírito Santo has a squad capable of competing on multiple fronts.

Like the Hutchinson approach, then, Forest have had a bid rejected for Dilane Bakwa of Strasbourg in Ligue 1, thought to be worth £24m.

Reports from France suggest that Strasbourg are looking for closer to £30m for the 22-year-old who registered 14 goal contributions in the 24/25 season.

Again, the difference in valuations isn’t significant, so if Forest truly want Bakwa, Evangelos Marinakis will need to step in and provide a financial package that suits all parties.
