It is clear to see that Marc Bernal is making good progress every day. The Barcelona gem, who suffered an ACL injury last year, is now working on making his return. However, a recent report claims that he might have to wait a bit longer before that is possible.
According to SPORT, Bernal will likely make his return against Valencia on the 14th of September. Interestingly, that game would also be Barça’s first home game in the new La Liga season.
Barcelona remain cautious with Bernal’s recovery

As for Bernal’s return, the reason for such a delayed return is mainly tied to the club wanting to exert caution with the player. After all, the player is still young and ACL injuries can often prove to be complicated, and Barça simply does not wish to take any risks with Bernal’s recovery.
While he could potentially receive medical clearance earlier, this seems to be a fair assessment of when he could return. Moreover, his attitude has been labelled as being exemplary, and he continues to be cooperative with the experts handling his recovery.
Considering the talent that he possesses and the club’s hopes for him, it makes sense as to why Barça is so cautious with the player. At the same time, however, his participation in the Joan Gamper Trophy game looks a bit uncertain for now.
While previous reports claimed that he could make his return in the game against Como, this recent update suggests that it might not be a guarantee just yet. For now, the club will continue to assess and monitor his situation closely.
