Two months ago, we covered claims from the Dutch press explaining Fulham’s desire to sign Ricardo Pepi this summer. It was also stated the Premier League club would need a ‘bizarre offer’ to convince PSV Eindhoven.
Fast forward to August and Fulham have now tabled a €30m bid for the striker.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, and they report the Dutch club have rejected Fulham’s offer.
Marco Silva’s side aren’t alone and face competition from RB Leipzig, who have also shown interest in the 22-year-old.
The Bundesliga club have reached an agreement with Manchester United to sell Benjamin Šeško. He’s already in England, and his move to Old Trafford should be made official soon. Foot Mercato reports Leipzig want to replace Šeško with the American international.
There are several other clubs keen on Pepi, but the outlet have only mentioned Fulham and the German club.
Eindhovens Dagblad journalist Rik Elfrink took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to add that Foot Mercato’s report on Fulham is ‘true’.
He claims Silva’s side wanted to secure Pepi’s services for €30m, but this is ‘not enough’ for PSV.
Elfrink adds the attacker is aiming for a ‘high scoring season’ with PSV, after scoring 18 goals and registering three assists from 29 games last season.
