Arne Slot has all but confirmed that Darwin Nunez will leave Liverpool - although he refused to be drawn on whether Alexander Isak could be his replacement.
Nunez is set to join Al Hilal, with the striker expected to arrive at the Saudi Pro League side's training camp in Germany in order to undergo his medical, having been absent from Liverpool's latest training session on Thursday.
His impending exit comes as speculation continues over a potential move for Isak. The Newcastle striker has this week been forced to train alone as he looks to be angling for a move to Merseyside, although Slot wasn't about to give anything away as he spoke to the media ahead of Sunday's Community Shield against Crystal Palace.
"As you know, from me and I think every manager works like this, you never talk about players that aren't yours, so I can talk to you about Hugo [Ekitike] who we've signed recently and has done really well until now," Slot said.
"We are very happy with the squad we are having, and we have every reason to be happy about that because we won the league last season. Okay, players left, but we've brought players in as well, and youngsters are doing good.
"At this moment in time, Darwin might leave, but things are not signed yet, so we need to wait maybe a few days before that is completely done, but there is indeed a chance that he is going to leave."

Liverpool has spent nearly $400 million on new signings this summer, with the addition of Florian Wirtz seeing the club smash its own transfer record, and it could go on to break the Premier League record with the add-ons included.
There is every chance though that the Reds won't be done there, with the club being linked with new forwards and a new defender, given there are currently only three senior center-backs in the squad.
"As always, what I say is the same boring answer as with players that we might bring in or not," Slot added. "I'm really happy with the players that we have, and we have numerous players that can play in the positions."

For now, attention turns to Sunday's game at Wembley as the Premier League champions take on the FA Cup winners for the first piece of silverware of the season.
"It's nice if you can start the season with the chance of winning something because normally you have to play numerous games before you can win something, if it's the League Cup, FA Cup, let alone Premier League or Champions League, normally you can win something at the end of the season," Slot said.
"Now we have the chance to win something at the beginning of the season. Unfortunately, we face a very good Crystal Palace that have been very difficult to win against for us."
