The 30 nominees for this year’s Ballon d’Or prize have been announced ahead of the award ceremony later this year.
There are 8 current Premier League players on the list, although 2 of them are new signings who have just arrived in England this summer.
Even so, it is a very healthy percentage, with nearly a third of the nominations going to players who ply their trade in the English top flight.
