"No Way", "We're Keeping Him": Man City Fans React As Journalist Makes £300k Per Week Claim For Wanted City Star

Man City are hoping to sell Jack Grealish this summer after the winger fell out of favour with manager Pep Guardiola.

Grealish signed for Man City in 2021 for a hefty fee of £100m, and has since managed to score 17 goals, and provide 23 assists in 157 appearances for Guardiola. However, last year, he made just 20 Premier League appearances, and dropped out of City’s first team.

It was reported earlier in the summer that the club are looking to sell the winger, and had originally set a price tag of around £40m for him. There was interest from Newcastle, Aston Villa, and Napoli, but it now seems that Everton is the most likely destination.

David Moyes is looking to add more attacking talent, and Grealish is certainly capable of providing something different for the Toffees. However, Everton want to sign him on loan, and City would much rather sell him.

Journalist Ben Jacobs has said that Man City would only send Grealish out on loan if Everton paid 100% of his wages. However, the issue is that the 29-year-old is on £300,000 per week, a figure that the Toffees most definitely cannot afford.

Man City fans took to X to react to the news…

Isn’t it something like 300k a week, yeah there is no way Everton is paying that… I don’t think they are financially able to.

No chance Everton takes him if these are the terms.

Where else could Grealish go?

West Ham and Napoli have been mentioned as potential destinations for the 29-year-old, however, the Hammers may not be able to afford a deal for him.

Napoli are more likely able to afford Grealish, however, they have already signed a winger this summer; PSV’s Noa Lang. If the Italian side were to go after Grealish, they may also consider a loan, potentially with an option to buy.

As far as Grealish is concerned, he needs to move to get more regular game time, as he would likely not appear for City if he stayed.
