Real Madrid are reportedly planning a swap deal involving Rodrygo and Arsenal defender William Saliba.

Real Madrid are plotting a transfer swoop as they look to take William Saliba away from Arsenal. As per Defensa Central, the Los Blancos are offering winger Rodrygo to tempt the Gunners into a deal.
The Frenchman is one of the best player’s in Mikel Arteta’s squad. He has become a top asset to Arsenal’s back-line with his quality and physical presence.
The Gunners has been active in signing new talent this summer but keeping their defensive star is equally important. Saliba’s stock has never been higher. Madrid know it will take more than just cash to get Arsenal to the table.
The Bernabeu club believes adding Rodrygo could sweeten the offer. The winger is still weighing up his future in Spain. Real are keen to upgrade their central defence, even after snapping up Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth. They see the Frenchman as the great addition for their back line for years to come.

Arsenal holding firm
For Arsenal, the timing of Madrid’s approach couldn’t be trickier. Arteta’s men have been hunting for more firepower up front. That said, Rodrygo’s flair would be an attractive asset. Although, losing Saliba could disrupt their title challenge before it even starts.
Club sources suggest the Gunners are pushing to tie defender to a new long-term deal. This will likely fend off any suitors before the window closes.
Meanwhile, Madrid have a backup plan in **Liverpool**’s Ibrahima Konate as well. Konate is nearing towards the end of his contract. That option would be far easier to work out, but Saliba remains the dream signing.
