Nottingham Forest have transfer bid rejected for promising French winger

Nottingham Forest have reportedly had a bid in the region of £25million rejected by RC Strasbourg for highly-rated French winger Dilane Bakwa.

French footballing outlet, L’Équipe claims the bid was rejected outright by the Ligue 1 side, who claim the offer was structured as £20million up front with the additional fees paid in certain bonuses.

The 22-year-old has impressed for Strasbourg since joining from Bordeaux in 2023 for €10million, where he managed five goals and eight assists in the second tier of French football before the move.

While playing at the Stade de la Meinau Strasbourg, Bakwa has racked up 61 league appearances, scoring nine times and setting up his teammates for 16 goals.

He picked up the club's player of the season award in his first campaign with Les Bleu et Blanc, and helped them to secure a UEFA Europa Conference League spot in the most recent season.

Dilane Bakwa has crowned Strasbourg's player of the season in his first year with the club.

L’Équipe reports that Strasbourg are not totally against parting with the promising winger, who is contracted until 2027, but will do so for no less than a package worth between €30million to €35million (£26million to £30million).
