Manchester United's transfer business won't stop once RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko signs in, Fabrizio Romano has exclusively revealed in his GIVEMESPORT transfer newsletter - with the Red Devils now eyeing up a move for a new goalkeeper in the form of Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp.
A transfer saga for Sesko finally came to a head on Thursday, with Romano giving a deal for the Slovenian star his trademark 'Here We Go!' treatment in a move that will come to around £73.7million. He'll join Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha as United's two earlier summer additions, in a complete shake-up of their forward line after shortcomings in the Premier League last season - but boss Ruben Amorim may not stop there.
Romano: Lammens on Man Utd Shortlist Ahead of Potential Move
Senne Lammens in action for Royal Antwerp
A move for Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Carlos Baleba is now in their sights, with the Seagulls star having shone in the top-flight last summer, and although United are currently a way apart from his valuation, it's clear to see that they aren't done in the sense of more business in the window.
And that could also see them move for Lammens, who Romano has claimed is a 'name on their list' as they potentially look to replace Andre Onana, who was littered with errors last season as the Red Devils only mustered a 15th-placed finish in the league, their worst since the competition began in 1992. He said exclusively on his GIVEMESPORT transfer newsletter:
"Now focus is on midfielder. Goalkeeper can be a possibility, Lammens from Antwerp remains a name on the list."
Lammens is only 23, but he's made a real name for himself in the Belgian top-flight in the last season after becoming Antwerp's first-choice stopper, making 30 appearances in the Pro League last season - which saw him named as 'phenomenal'. Coupled with various appearances for Belgium at youth level, he's become one of the continent's top young goalkeepers, seeing United register their interest.
With backup goalkeeper Altay Bayindir failing to impress and overtake Onana in the pecking order, United are in need of a new stopper to rival the Cameroon international between the sticks, especially after a number of blunders last season. Lammens would offer youth, experience and the potential quality to work his way into becoming the man to take over the goalkeeper jersey.
At present, Onana is injured, and that leaves Bayindir and veteran option Tom Heaton as the two choices to start the season, which Lammens would look to disrupt if he moved to Old Trafford.
