SEATTLE — Rookie quarterback Cam Miller threw a 41-yard touchdown pass in his NFL preseason debut Thursday night with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Rookie linebacker Jalan Gaines blocked a 55-yard field-goal attempt by Las Vegas' Daniel Carlson on the final play of regulation, and host Seattle survived for a tie in the preseason opener for both teams.

Miller, the former North Dakota State quarterback, finished 6 of 7 for 76 yards. Las Vegas overcame a 10-point deficit in the final 10 minutes on a 41-yard touchdown pass from Miller to Shedrick Jackson and then a 51-yard field goal from Carlson with 1:12 to go.
Geno Smith started behind center for the Raiders and went 1 of 3 for 15 yards on his lone drive. Aidan O'Connell connected on 18 of 30 passes for 205 yards and a score with two interceptions. Jackson had four catches for 76 yards and a touchdown.
The game was the first as head coach of the Raiders for Pete Carroll, who coached the Seahawks from 2010-23 and led the franchise to two Super Bowl appearances and one championship.
The Raiders forced a punt and got the ball back with 25 seconds left, then drove 31 yards before Carlson's decisive miss.
Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold sat out, with Drew Lock going 12 of 22 for 147 yards, a touchdown and an interception as the starter. Jalen Milroe finished 6 of 10 for 61 yards. Seattle's George Holani had seven carries for 61 yards and a touchdown.
