Fabrizio Romano has opened up on three all-important updates on one first-team Manchester United star under Ruben Amorim amid the Red Devils’ spending spree.
The 2025-26 Premier League season is around the corner and Ruben Amorim has been able to revamp certain key areas of the Manchester United first-team squad.
United manager Amorim has been able to bolster his attacking options with the acquisitions of Matheus Cunha from Wolves and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.
The 40-year-old Portuguese coach is also able to build for the long term at Old Trafford and Amorim has been able to welcome the signing of Diego Leon.
United are not done with their spending spree and are on the verge of making another high-profile signing to link up with Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
The Red Devils have been in the race to sign striker Benjamin Sesko and United have agreed a deal to sign the Newcastle target from RB Leipzig this summer.

Fabrizio Romano breaks down the details behind Rasmus Hojlund’s Man Utd situation amid the Benjamin Sesko transfer pursuit
Manchester United’s soon-to-be acquisition of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig has plunged the Old Trafford future of Rasmus Hojlund into doubt this summer.
The Red Devils have hijacked Newcastle’s bid to sign Sesko and United have agreed a deal worth £73.7m, with an initial fee of £66.3m to be paid to RB Leipzig.
Rasmus Hojlund had been linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer after a second disappointing season at United after his 2023 transfer from Atalanta.
Fabrizio Romano took to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, and revealed on Thursday that United are “set to discuss” with Hojlund about his future.
Serie A sides Inter Milan, AC Milan and Roma have been linked with the 22-year-old Danish ace, who could fall down the pecking order with Sesko’s arrival at United.
Romano said that AC Milan are “aware” of the situation around Hojlund and signing him on loan, but it would come with a “heavy loan fee” and covering his salary.
However, he added an interesting update about Hojlund’s position on the matter, with the United star wanting to stay and not being “scared by [the] competition.”

What Ruben Amorim said about Man Utd star Rasmus Hojlund ahead of the Red Devils hijacking Newcastle’s move for Benjamin Sesko
Rasmus Hojlund has featured under Ruben Amorim on the pre-season tour and the Denmark international netted the opener in United’s 4-1 thrashing of Bournemouth.
Speaking after United’s result against Bournemouth in Chicago last month, the United manager insisted that he was “really happy” with struggling striker Hojlund.
“I am really happy with Rasmus,” he said, as per the Manchester Evening News in July.
“I don’t know what is going to happen until the end of the market.
“The important thing is that the strikers that are here are working really well, are improving, are helping the team and that is the most important thing.”
United tabled their bid for Sesko earlier this week and the Leipzig striker flew to Manchester on Thursday and is set to complete his medical at the club on Friday.
