So far this summer, Wrexham have signed eight new players and there is still time for Phil Parkinson to bring in several more before the summer transfer window shuts.
Wrexham kickstart their 2025/26 Championship season with a trip to Southampton on Saturday in a lunchtime kick-off.
The wait is over for the Dragons following their third-straight promotion last season, but their opener at St Mary’s will certainly be a tough one, with the Saints looking like early promotion contenders in the Championship next season.
And after a shaky pre-season tour of Australia and New Zealand, Wrexham have certainly bolstered well.
Phil Parkinson has brought in some quality, experienced names to his side, including the likes of Josh Windass, Lewis O’Brien and Conor Coady among others, and fans are much more optimistic about their chances in the second tier next season after this flurry of transfer activity.
The summer transfer window shuts on the 1st of September and before then it looks like we could yet see another flurry of signings arriving at the Racecourse.

Two players who could yet arrive in North Wales before the summer transfer window closes are two Premier League players in Lewis Koumas and Pedro Lima. Recent reports have revealed how Wrexham are in advanced talks to sign Koumas on loan from Liverpool, whilst Wolves’ Lima has also been linked with a move to the Racecourse.
In speaking to the press ahead of Saturday’s game against Southampton, Parkinson was asked directly whether there is an update on either Koumas or Lima, and the Dragons boss gave a rather expected answer, but didn’t rule out that either player is a target or that either player could arrive at Wrexham before September 1st.

Parkinson said: “There’s such a list of players and we seem to get linked to it with everybody. At this stage I just don’t want to really comment on any individuals.”
Phil Parkinson confirms Wrexham are in transfer talks
Parkinson’s first Championship press conference of this season covered a lot of transfer issues, as along with Koumas and Lima, Wrexham are also being linked with Nathan Broadhead at Ipswich Town in a move that could break the Dragons’ existing transfer record.
Parkinson said of Wrexham’s transfer state of play: “There’s a number of deals we’re looking into at the moment so I think it’s a bit unfair going into the season to comment on other teams’ players who are under contract.
“But there’s several opportunities we’re looking at and hopefully can make the right calls to continue improving what we’ve got.”
Having signed eight new players, Wrexham look like they now have a team capable of at least beating the drop next season, but everyone at the club will want to maintain this current momentum and a few more quality additions could easily put the Dragons into promotion contention next season.
Wrexham’s game against Southampton kicks off at 12:30pm on Saturday.
