Niclas Fullkrug could be sold by West Ham this summer.
The German striker struggled in his maiden season in the Premier League, making just 18 appearances and notching three goals.
Graham Potter is in desperate need of attacking additions, and a replacement would be needed if the Borussia Dortmund man were allowed to leave.
West Ham brought in Callum Wilson on a free transfer, but he is not expected to be a regular starter in East London.

After the Jamaica international’s departure, Darke is concerned about the Irons’ options in the centre-forward department and urged them to try to sign Nicolas Jackson.
Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, he said: “Given Wilson’s injury record, it is vital the Hammers have alternatives.
“Certainly, they can’t let Fullkrug go until a high-class replacement is found.
“Someone like Nicolas Jackson at Chelsea is available at the right price, but he will probably have better options, and in any case, the price would be too high.”

Jackson would be a brilliant signing for West Ham
Jackson has proven to be a capable starter in the top flight, with 24 goals and 10 assists in 65 matches in the division.
However, Enzo Maresca’s side are willing to sell the forward because they have signed Liam Delap and Joao Pedro this summer, leaving the 24-year-old third in the pecking order.
Whether the E20 side can pull off a deal for Jackson remains to be seen, but it would be a real coup given the other teams that are interested in him.
The likes of Bayern Munich and Newcastle are also chasing the 20-cap Senegal international, so if the Hammers can swoop in, it would be a masterstroke from Sullivan after a miserable transfer window so far.
As Darke states, the price may be too high and Potter’s side may be beaten to his signature by bigger clubs, but it is worth entering the race at the very least in case they can get him.
