Report: Man Utd make double transfer U-turn after Sesko agreement, 'actively' working on exit

Manchester United have revised their valuations of Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund as they look to raise funds from player sales before the end of the transfer window, journalist Ben Jacobs has reported.

The Old Trafford side have reportedly lowered their asking price for Garnacho from over £60m to £50m, while Hojlund’s valuation has been increased from £30m to £40m.

United are hopeful of offloading both forwards before the 1 September deadline as they aim to balance the books following an agreement to sign RB Leipzig starlet Benjamin Sesko.

The Slovenia international is set to undergo his medical at Carrington on Friday ahead of a £73.6m move, with a contract in place until June 2030.

Sesko’s arrival will push Man United’s summer spending close to £200m, following marquee deals for Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.

Man United Ready to Sell Garnacho and Hojlund

Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho celebrating for Manchester United

According to Jacobs, Man United have lowered their asking price for Garnacho to £50m and are in active talks with Chelsea over the Argentina international’s departure.

Garnacho is expecting the move to Stamford Bridge to happen – he is now waiting for both clubs to reach a breakthrough in discussions.

Jacobs also reports that United are actively seeking an exit for Hojlund, who is now valued at £40m and is attracting interest from clubs in Germany, Italy and Saudi Arabia.

United are open to selling the Danish international despite his willingness to stay and fight for his place under Ruben Amorim, and are prepared to take a financial hit, having signed him for £72m from Atalanta two seasons ago.

Garnacho is believed to be the most advanced of the potential Old Trafford exits, while uncertainty remains over the futures of Antony, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia.

The trio have yet to attract significant market interest, despite being placed on the transfer list weeks ago, with Amorim keen to see them depart this summer.
