Brentford making moves to sign striker as Newcastle United await green light for Yoane Wissa…

· 8 August 2025, 13:30

**Brentford are resigned to losing Yoane Wissa this summer in a situation that almost mirrors that of Newcastle United and Alexander Isak.**

Both clubs know their strikers have their hearts set on a move, but neither is willing to part with them unless they have a replacement lined up. Both players are also training away from the rest of the group after putting down their tools to force a move.

However, whereas Newcastle are struggling to find a replacement for their want-away forward, Brentford are now making moves to replace theirs, according to Craig Hope.

The Daily Mail scribe has reported that Brentford are targeting Dango Ouatarra from Bournemouth, with Sky Sports' Mark McAdam adding that Ouatarra has told the Cherries he wants to leave.

Bournemouth have been hit by the vultures this summer

-----------------------------------------------------

Bournemouth are paying the price for a good season with several of their star players already having been poached this summer, so we'd imagine they'd be reluctant to let Ouatarra go, but if the player wants to leave, they may not have much of an option.

Let's hope that things start to progress quickly on this so that we can finally get the move for Yoane Wissa over the line.

The deal has been stalled for a while now, since Wissa flew back to London from the club's training camp to try and push through a move to Newcastle.

Al-Nassr are also interested in Yoane Wissa

-------------------------------------------

There are talks of interest in Wissa from PIF-owned Al-Nassr, which is a cause for concern for Newcastle, with them expected to be ready to pay the £50 million Brentford want; however, Wissa's main reason for wanting to leave is to play in the Champions League, feeling this could be his last chance for a move to a CL club at 28 years old.

The hard part is going to be agreeing on a fee with Brentford, with both clubs miles apart on their valuation. Personal terms aren't thought to be an issue, and Wissa is very keen to join.

There's still a high likelihood that this deal gets done; it's just a case of when rather than if.
