Tom Brady's prized rookie may have already turned out to be a bust - before the NFL season has even begun.

The Las Vegas Raiders selected Ashton Jeanty with the No. 6 overall pick out of Boise State in April's draft as minority owner Brady and co. looked to boost their Super Bowl chances in Sin City.

However, the running back's NFL career got off to a disappointing start on Thursday night when he suited up in the black and silver for the first time in preseason.

The highly-rated 21-year-old, who was spotted viewing a beautiful $12.5million Las Vegas mansion earlier this week, managed just three carries for -1 yard against the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field.

And football fans didn't hesitate to rip the rookie for his underwhelming performance with many already writing him off before the start of the NFL season.

'I have more rushing yards than Ashton Jeanty in the NFL preseason,' one fan account joked on X, as a second echoed: 'YOU have more rushing yards in the NFL than Ashton Jeanty.'

'Ashton Jeanty officially on bust watch,' another claimed, while a fourth asked: 'Time to pump brakes on Ashton Jeanty?'

'Ngl Ashton Jeanty is scaring me. He does not look good at all,' another concerned fan posted to the social media platform.

'Looks like Ashton Jeanty is done for the night, he did absolutely nothing, and Vegas just made a killing,' another wrote, referring to the likely high number of bets placed on the running back to succeed.

However, one fan appeared to suggest that Jeanty wasn't entirely to blame as they shared: 'Ashton Jeanty GOES NOWHERE again. Raiders O-line looks horrible.'

Jeanty had arrived in Sin City as a highly-anticipated prospect, signing a four-year deal worth $35.9 million with the franchise - which included a stunning signing bonus worth just under $22.75 million.

There was a lot of expectations for Jeanty after his impressive displays for Boise State saw him come runner-up in the Heisman Trophy last year.

According to Sports Illustrated reporter Albert Breer , Jeanty has already impressed Raiders coaching staff during the training camp.

Breer said, 'Ashton Jeanty has come as advertised. All the obvious stuff to all the coaches and scouts who evaluated him is the contact balance and the ability to hide behind his linemen as a shorter, more compact player.

'And get past defenders before they could even see him. He can take a 10-yard run and turn it into a 50-yard run. All that stuff is there.

'What's been a little surprising to coaches is how quickly he's adjusted in the passing game. Pass pro can prevent young players at that position from getting on the field early in their careers.

'And it's something that Ashton Jeanty, as a college player, like a lot of great backs, didn't do a ton of in college, but he's taken to it right away.'
