Manchester City defender Vitor Reis has joined sister club Girona on a season-long loan deal, subject to international clearance.
The 19-year-old moved to the Citizens from Brazilian giants Palmeiras in January for a reported £29m, arriving at the Etihad Stadium widely regarded as one of the brightest prospects from South America.
Reis, who penned a four-and-a-half-year contract with Man City, played four times for Pep Guardiola’s side in the second half of last season, starting FA Cup wins over Leyton Orient and Plymouth Argyle, before coming on as a late substitute in a 2-0 Premier League victory over Leicester City.

The Brazil youth international was also part of the Citizens squad that travelled to the United States for the FIFA Club World Cup earlier this summer, and he started the 2-0 group-stage win over Wydad AC.
Reis missed Man City’s open training session on Tuesday and will now link up with fellow City Football Group outfit Girona for the 2025-26 season, with their La Liga season scheduled to begin at home against Rayo Vallecano on August 15.
The young centre-back is hoping to continue his development under Girona head coach Michel and is keen to impress in Spain before returning to Man City next summer.

Man City youngster Alleyne completes loan move to Watford
Meanwhile, Championship club Watford have announced the signing of central defender Max Alleyne on loan from Man City.
According to the Manchester Evening News, the 20-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year contract at Man City, keeping him at the club until June 2030, but he will spent the 2025-26 campaign at Vicarage Road.
“Max stands out for his technical ability,” Watford boss Paulo Pezzolano told the club’s official website. “He’s a very dynamic player and with a really good understanding of the game.
“He’s a very versatile player. Being ambidextrous, he can play on both sides of the field. In addition, even though his main position on the field is as a centre-back, he can also play in other positions.”
Alleyne is yet to make his senior debut for Man City, but he was included in Guardiola’s matchday squad on two occasions in the Premier League last season and was also part of their Club World Cup squad this summer.
The highly-rated youngster played a key role for Man City Under-21s in winning the Premier League 2 title last season and was named the club's Under-21 Player of the Year for 2024-25.

Seven more Man City players could follow Reis, Alleyne out the exit door
Reis and Alleyne are the latest departures from a Man City squad that Guardiola has regularly said needs trimming in the summer transfer window ahead of the new season.
One player who is expected to depart is Jack Grealish, with Everton understood to have **opened talks with Man Cit**y over a potential loan deal.
Sports Mole has exclusively reported that Tottenham Hotspur are also in the running and lodged an immediate enquiry following James Maddison's injury blow in a pre-season draw with Newcastle United last week.
James McAtee could also be swapping clubs in the Premier League, as the highly-rated midfielder has been the subject of a rejected £25m bid from Nottingham Forest, who remain hopeful of securing his signature this summer.
Following the arrival of goalkeeper James Trafford, who is set to provide competition for Ederson, Man City are now believed to be open to offers for Stefan Ortega, while Kalvin Phillips - currently recovering from Achilles surgery - is surplus to requirements.
Claudio Echeverri is expected to head out on loan and Man City would prefer to see him link up with Reis on loan at Girona, but Serie A giants Roma are also keen to sign the Argentine and have seen a loan offer including an option to buy rejected by the Citizens.
Summer signing Sverre Nypan is also set to be sent out on loan to continue his development, while academy graduate Callum Doyle is allegedly on the market for around £10m after four loan spells away from Man City.
