Benjamin Sesko has completed his move to Manchester United and is now a United player, according to reporter Ben Jacobs.
United have finally got the young striker they have been chasing for two years.
The breakthrough came this week when the 22-year-old chose United’s project over that of Newcastle, who had led the way with huge offers around €80 million to RB Leipzig, and who offered the player a higher salary package and Champions League football next season.
The lure of playing for Manchester United eventually proved too strong for the Slovenian and INEOS pounced quickly to secure a €76.5 million deal with €8.5 million in potential bonuses.
Vivell gets his man for the second time
Much of the credit for the Sesko transfer must go to United’s Director of Recruitment, Christopher Vivell, who has been championing the bid to get the young striker over the line.
Vivell already knew the young Slovenian from his previous spells at Salzburg and Leipzig and was instrumental in bringing him into the Red Bull franchise as a 16 year old. It is widely believed that it was the director’s connections at Leipzig and personal rapport with the player that helped to get the deal over the line.
Sesko settling in
Jacobs claimed this afternoon that “Šeško has completed his move to Manchester United.
“He is now at Carrington for the opening of the first-team training centre.”

It is extremely unlikely that Sesko wil take any part in tomorrow’s final pre-season warm-up against Fiorentina but he is set to be unveiled to the Old Trafford faithful just befoee the match.
While the transfer is yet to be confirmed by any Tier 1 reporters or by the club or player, Jacobs, alongside Alex Crook, have been right on the money over the Sesko deal so there is no reason to doubt the report.
