Official: Barcelona announce injury setback

_2_

La Liga giants Barcelona have late this week announced a personnel blow in the club’s first-team ranks.

This comes amid confirmation that Robert Lewandowski has suffered an injury setback.

Barcelona are of course currently in the midst of final preparations for a return to action this weekend.

After reconvening on the back of the club’s recent pre-season tour of Asia, the Blaugrana have shifted focus towards a meeting with Serie A outfit Como, in the latest edition of the Joan Gamper Trophy match.

Hansi Flick’s troops will head into the matchup aware that it marks their final chance to impress in a competitive setting before the new La Liga campaign is kicked into gear.

As alluded to above, however, one leading member of Barca’s frontline will play no part.

As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of the Catalans on Friday:

‘The first team player Robert Lewandowski has a hamstring problem in his left thigh. The striker is unavailable for Sunday’s game and his recovery will determine his return.’
