Manchester United have officially opened their new first-team building at their Carrington training ground.
The £50million project, which has been crafted by architects Foster + Partners, will, according to , become "a leading-edge, high-performance training environment designed to inspire collaboration, innovation and excellence".
Architects Foster + Partners had targeted an opening for the start of pre-season or by the start of the new campaign at the very latest. United kick-off their season against Arsenal in nine days time.
The project has been completed within budget and the new building is equipped with updated equipment and technology, with a focus on fitness, nutrition, recovery and team unity.
Players and staff provided input for the design, which has an emphasis on open work spaces and collaboration. Designers have also ensured there is greater exposure to natural light.
