Liverpool kit launch breaks records

Liverpool’s new adidas kit has proved to be its most popular to date, with more kits sold in the last week than ever before.

The August start of the 10 year partnership with adidas meant the club released both home and away kits at the same time – usually these are staggered. The club said it led to “unprecedented levels of demand” around the world.

It beat last year’s launch by over 700%, with orders coming from 150 countries. 80% of the sales were made via its ecommerce platforms, and its retail store in Anfield also had its busiest week ever.

Last week, a kit launch film brought together first team players including Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Ceri Holland and Curtis Jones and legends, Sir Kenny Dalglish, Ian Rush, John Barnes, Robbie Fowler and Jamie Carragher.

So far that’s been seen by more than 40m people, with the club also recording 17m engagements and 423m impressions across its social channels for content solely related to kit launch, making it the most engaged Premier League kit launch for the 25/26 season.

Liverpool stated that new record signing Florian Wirtz is the number one best seller for name and number printed on newly purchased shirts over the past seven days.

That’s followed by fans wanting to honour Diogo Jota, and having ‘Diogo J. 20’ printed on the back of their shirts. All profits from his name and number printed from official club stores or via the official online store and adidas online stores, will go to LFC Foundation, the club’s official charity.

The Foundation has committed to creating a grassroots football programme in Jota’s name.
