Developments at La Liga giants Barcelona over the last 24 hours have begun to come together for a much clearer picture.
This comes after the Blaugrana faced something of a fan backlash for their choice of new captain.
Confirmation was of course forthcoming on Thursday that the decision had been made to strip Marc-André ter Stegen of his armband at the Camp Nou.
And whilst as much was widely agreed upon as the correct move, Ter Stegen’s replacement went down altogether more poorly.
Ronald Araújo will for the time being act as the dressing room leader in Hansi Flick’s squad.

On the face of it, as much looked something of a strange decision, owing chiefly to the fact that Araújo is not currently considered first-choice in Barcelona’s squad.
With the Uruguayan also fresh off something of an underwhelming campaign, fans were therefore quick to make their grievances known.
As alluded to above, though, developments in the time since have allowed for a clearer view of the situation to be provided.
Iñigo Martínez is of course now all set to depart Catalunya, bound for Saudi outfit Al-Nassr.

As much will open the door for Araújo to recapture starter status in boss Flick’s backline, alongside Pau Cubarsí.
Held in high regard by the coaching staff in Barcelona, his status as new club captain, in turn, is beginning to look altogether more understandable.
