West Ham United are thought to be 'advancing well' in talks to sign FC Metz star Idrissa Gueye, according to reports - with manager Graham Potter keen on adding to his squad before the transfer window slams shut in three weeks' time.
The Hammers have added four players to their ranks this summer in the form of last season's loan star Jean-Clair Todibo, Daniel Cummings, and English free transfers in Callum Wilson and Kyle Walker-Peters - though the sale of Mohammed Kudus to Tottenham Hotspur and long-serving stars being released means that they need to add numbers, and Gueye could be next through the door.
Report: West Ham 'Advancing' in Talks for Gueye

The report by Footmercato states that discussions are progressing well between Gueye and the Hammers, as the young Senegalese star prepares for a potential move to the Premier League.
Metz are well aware that it will be difficult to keep the youthful talisman, and are demanding £12.9million to part ways with the goalscorer - something that West Ham are desperate to secure before other clubs enter the race for his signature.
The Irons are thought to be preparing an offer to boost ahead of any competition, especially having failed to retain the services of Danny Ings and Michail Antonio after their contracts expired - where Wilson and Niclas Fullkrug, both in their thirties and somewhat injury prone, are the only names in West Ham's attacking contingent.
Gueye, called a 'sensation', scored five goals and notched a further assist in just 20 appearances for Metz last season, despite only joining them in January - firing them up to the top-flight of French football with a win over Reims in the promotion play-off after an extra-time win in the second leg.
The report further goes on to state that Gueye's speed, maturity for his age and potential have since made him one of the most sought-after stars in their squad, with clubs in England and the Bundesliga following his talents - though Potter will look to add him to beat off competition and land a real gem at the London Stadium.
Barring a 13-goal season from Jarrod Bowen, the Hammers' frontline massively struggled in front of goal last season, with Fullkrug only managing three strikes in the top-flight, whilst Ings and Antonio only managed one goal each. Instead, they relied on midfielders Tomas Soucek, Lucas Paqueta and the now-departed Kudus to chime in with goals when needed as they managed a miserly 14th-placed finish in the division.
