Paul Scholes has dropped his two cents on the eye-opening comments from one Manchester United star and the player’s key role at Old Trafford going forward.
The Red Devils will play their final tie of their pre-season summer tour on Saturday, with Manchester United welcoming Serie A outfit Fiorentina to Old Trafford.
Ruben Amorim and his men had been in the United States in both July and August and the Red Devils won twice and picked up a draw during their visit to the country.
United faced Everton last Sunday at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta and the Red Devils signed off their pre-season tour of the States with a 2-2 scoreline.
The Red Devils finished top of the Premier League Summer Series table after back-to-back wins over West Ham and Bournemouth and their draw over Everton.
The Premier League club’s first pre-season under Ruben Amorim kicked off in Europe last month and United’s lacklustre encounter with Leeds United ended in a 0-0 draw.

Luke Shaw took part in the Manchester United pre-season tour and the 30-year-old England international was not afraid to speak his mind about one thing this summer.
During a Premier League event in Chicago in July, the Red Devils left-back insisted that there are “no stragglers” in the United first-team squad under Ruben Amorim.
Amorim has been ruthless with his United squad and the likes of Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Jadon Sancho were placed on the chopping block.
Speaking on The Overlap, Paul Scholes asked about Shaw: “Who do you think he was aiming the stragglers comment at? I saw that [from] Luke Shaw.”
However, the 50-year-old United legend didn’t pass up the opportunity to land a tongue-in-cheek swipe on Shaw amid his injury-hit record at the Red Devils.
“I was gonna say,” Scholes continued, before hilariously asking: “Was it himself?”
The TNT Sports pundit added: “He’s not played a game for two years?”

Paul Scholes’ praise for Luke Shaw and the Man Utd defender’s position change under Ruben Amorim
Luke Shaw has found himself as the left-sided centre-back at times in Amorim’s tactical system for United, with defender Patrick Dorgu playing as the left wing-back.
Scholes admitted that the Three Lions star is “one of the very best” left-backs in full form, but even he feels that Shaw must undergo a key position change in his career.
“And when he’s fit, he’s one of the very best at left-back,” he said.
The former United midfielder continued: “He has to be [playing at centre-back]. There’s no way he can get up and down the pitch.”
Shaw, who is under contract with United until 2027, was reduced to only 12 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils during the 2024-25 campaign.
