Michael Penix Jr., quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons, is expected to be a game-changer for the team in the upcoming NFL season. Penix rose up to starting quarterback after starting quarterback Kirk Cousins’ ankle gave trouble in the previous season. After Cousins was sidelined, Penix impressed both fans and the management with his incredible performance in the following weeks.

With Cousins most likely to be traded away soon, Penix becomes the main hope of the Atlanta Falcons’ offense for the 2025 NFL campaign. Not only the young quarterback, but even his fiancée Olivia Carter, seems equally excited for the upcoming season.

Michael Penix Jr. and the Atlanta Falcons will be soon seen in action as they take on the Detroit Lions in the first preseason game. The Falcons’ regular season will take off on Week 1 as the team meets the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

After the drama ensuing with Kirk Cousins, the Atlanta Falcons will be placing plenty of hope and expectations on Michael Penix Jr. to lead their offense. Meanwhile, it still remains to be seen as to where Cousins will be traded to for his next season.
Michael Penix Jr.’s Competitiveness Praised By Raheem Morris
Meanwhile, Michael Penix Jr.’s competitiveness and tenacity were praised by none other than Atlanta Falcons head coach Raheem Morris. Morris spoke to NFL Network and could not help but appreciate the mature quarterback Penix has become now.
“The difference between him this year and last year is he’s coming in as the lead dog. He’s got a real control of the offense. It’s not the first time he’s hearing the formations, it’s not the first time he’s going through the route tree, it’s not the first time he’s throwing to these wideouts. He’s a little bit more experienced in having the ability to go through the offseason with his guys and establish his routine and his rhythm.” Raheem Morris spoke about Michael Penix Jr. in his appearance on the NFL Network.

Raheem Morris also appreciated that Penix simply wanted to win in everything he does, including drills during practice also. Morris also remarked that he first noticed Penix’s competitive edge in the weight room, where the young quarterback aimed to be the “top dog” in all his activities there.
