**Newcastle United could finally be about to land a new striker in the coming days after weeks of setbacks.**
To say that Newcastle have had a nightmare trying to find reinforcements for their forward line this summer would be putting it mildly, as several top targets have knocked back the advances of the Magpies in favour of other clubs.
One player who has always seemed keen on the move to St James' Park, though, is Brentford's Yoane Wissa.
Wissa has done all he can to force the move to Tyneside but Brentford have been reluctant to part with their forward who bagged 19 Premier League goals last season until they had a replacement in, and with a move for Bournemouth's Dango Ouatarra in the offing, things could be about to move forward for Wissa and Newcastle.

Newcastle are closing in on a £35m deal for Yoane Wissa

Sky Sports' Keith Downie has now provided a positive update on the Wissa situation, saying that his representatives are flying to the UK to thrash out a deal.
> 🚨 Newcastle are ready to finalise a deal with Brentford for forward Yoane Wissa — and are hoping a deal can be struck quickly. 💰 Understand the fee under discussion is around the £35m mark. ✈️ Wissa's representatives are travelling to the UK today in the hope of thrashing out a deal. 🗣️ #NUFC have had one bid of £25m rejected last month. 🚦 Wissa has made it clear he wants to leave and join Newcastle and is ready to travel as soon as he's given the green light.

Yoane Wissa is the replacement for Callum Wilson
------------------------------------------------
£35 million seems about right for a Premier League-proven goal scorer whose club don't want to sell. We'd be happy enough to pay that for him.
Yoane Wissa would be the direct replacement for Callum Wilson, who left the club on a free earlier this summer and has since joined West Ham.
Newcastle will still be looking to bring in another high-quality, younger striker to replace Alexander Isak, regardless of whether the Swede moves this summer or is made to wait.
