Everton are pushing to sign Manchester City’s Jack Grealish on loan this summer after he was made available for transfer.

Grealish would be the Toffees’ sixth addition of the summer and would be the statement signing that all Blues fans had been waiting for.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has recently arrived at Everton and could make his debut in the friendly with Roma at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday (9 August).

Should Grealish complete his deal in the coming days, it will be interesting to see when he will make his first appearance in an Everton shirt.

Grealish to make debut against Leeds

Since making a £100million move from Aston Villa to Manchester City, Grealish has struggled for form in the Premier League.

The creative midfielder became known for his fine dribbling during two successful top-flight seasons with the Villans, which caught the eye of Pep Guardiola.

After struggling for gametime with the Cityzens last season, his time in Manchester looks to be up, and David Moyes could convince him to relocate to Merseyside.

Everton have reportedly stepped up their interest, leaving supporters to wonder when he might sign and when he might make his debut.

Whether he signs before Saturday’s friendly against Roma or not, it is unlikely that the winger will make his debut against the Italian giants.

Grealish could instead be watching from the stands, with an agreement with Man City said to be getting closer.

If he does end up signing for the Blues in the coming days, he could instead make his debut in their Premier League opener against Leeds United at Elland Road (18 August).

However, he would likely feature as a substitute later in the game, having not undergone preseason with the Toffees.

Grealish could be crucial for Everton

Grealish could push Everton back to competing for European football.

The Blues will still need to negotiate how much they will pay the former Aston Villa man, but an agreement should hopefully be found sooner rather than later.

Grealish has struggled at City due to their rigid style of play, but given some space and confidence, he can excel again.

Everton could provide exactly the fresh start that Grealish is looking for, with Moyes likely willing to afford the midfielder the same freedom he enjoyed at Villa.
