Chelsea agree personal terms with top winger target, hope to sign him for less than £50m asking price - Chelsea News

Chelsea has agreed personal terms with Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho. Garnacho has emerged as one of Chelsea’s top targets this summer as they look to add more established left wingers to their ranks.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that every detail of personal terms have been agreed between Garnacho and Chelsea, and that the player only wanted the move to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Chelsea will have their work cut out for them when agreeing a deal with Manchester United however, as there is understood to be a difference in evaluation. Sky Sports has reported that United value the player at £50m, but Chelsea remain hopeful they can agree a deal for less.

Garnacho was omitted from United’s pre-season squad this summer, with boss Ruben Amorim saying the forward wants “different leadership”.

The relation between the player and manager became strained following Garnacho’s public criticism of his boss’ decision to play him as a late substitute in the Europa League final loss to Tottenham.

The player was also seen on social media wearing an Aston Villa shirt with the name of his then fellow outcasted teammate Marcus Rashford on the back. Rumours then swirled about a possible move to the West Midlands, but the player has had his heart set on Chelsea only.

The interest is mutual, as Chelsea are understood be long term admirers of the player. There were reports of Chelsea’s interest as far back as January of 2024 but the Blues never sent a concrete bid.

Garnacho has three years remaining on his contract at United and is one of four remaining “bomb squad” members at the club. Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Tyrell Malacia complete the list of players who have been told by United that they can use the Carrington training facilities only once the first team has departed.

Marcus Rashford was once a member but has now joined Barcelona on a season-long loan.
