Tom Marquand saluted the Bloom family’s backing of sport after winning the Brighton Bullet.
Marquand guided 3-1 favourite Another Abbot to what looked a comfortable three-and-a-quarter-length success in the six-furlong Harry Bloom Memorial Stakes.
The annual feature race is named after the former [Albion](https://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/albion/) vice-chairman
Marquand said: “I have been very lucky to ride for the Bloom family plenty over the last few years.
“We have been fortunate to have a bit of success and obviously Brighton is synonymous with the Bloom name, whether it is racing or football or anything, quite frankly.

“It’s great to have Tony and his family so heavily involved with the racing.”
Albion chairman Tony Bloom attended part of the meeting, which rounded off a sun-kissed three-day festival for the Brighton course.
Another Abbot always looked well-placed coming into the final stages and overhauled Cindy Lou Hou, the Tony Carroll contender who had been fancied by many.
Winning trainer William Haggas had winners in the Bullet in 2021 and 2022 but had not been back since and there was clearly good reason for him to return.
Marquand said: “It worked out exactly how we would have wanted it to.
“There was a good bit of speed early.
“That helped him relax as much as he can. He never full switches off but he is a good little horse.
“He picked up well and won nicely.”
