Two PL clubs 'express interest' in Liverpool attacker

Two Premier League clubs are reportedly chasing Liverpool winger Ben Doak in the summer transfer window.

The 19-year-old is a product of Celtic's youth academy and was signed by the Reds in 2022.

The young left-footed winger has made three Premier League appearances for the Merseyside club and spent the last season on loan at Middlesbrough, where he heavily impressed.

Ipswich Town and Crystal Palace were interested in signing Doak during the January transfer window, but Liverpool rejected bids in the region of £20m for him.

The Scottish winger has no shortage of admirers, but he could remain at Anfield for the next season after impressing Arne Slot during the pre-season.

According to a report from Sky Sports News, Leeds United and West Ham United have expressed interest in signing Doak.

French outfit Monaco and Serie A club Bologna are also showing interest in the young winger, who is seeking regular first-team football this season.

Leeds have bolstered several areas of the pitch after they secured promotion last season, but Daniel Farke still needs depth and quality in the forward areas.

The Whites were reportedly interested in signing Feyenoord winger Igor Paixao, but they lost the race to Marseille. As a result, they have turned their attention to Doak.

West Ham also need a quality right winger after they sold Mohammed Kudus to Tottenham Hotspur this summer, and the young Reds winger could be a brilliant replacement.

Should Liverpool sell Doak?

Irrespective of whether Liverpool land Alexander Isak or not, the Reds are short of options in their attacking department, especially after selling Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich.

Darwin Nunez is also reportedly close to leaving the club after a deal has been agreed with Al-Hilal, while Harvey Elliott's future is far from certain.

In such a scenario, Slot is likely to give regular opportunities to youngsters like Rio Ngumoha and Doak, and it makes sense to keep the Scotland international with them, unless the offer is too good to reject.
