Report: Southampton now eyeing £20m Everton target to replace Tyler Dibling

Everton aren’t looking too keen on paying £50 million for Tyler Dibling, and Southampton’s possible replacement has made things interesting.

After what has been an ongoing saga, it now appears that a move for Dibling to Everton doesn’t look likely.

This comes after Everton’s refusal to pay the £50 million price tag set, as David Moyes might not be too keen on using that on an inexperienced player.

It’s obvious the Toffees manager wants the young winger, but there is always a limit, as Southampton seem to have pushed their luck.

Despite this, the Merseyside club aren’t giving up as Everton hope Southampton price down the fee wanted, but this isn’t the only thing the Saints are causing a problem with.

Tyler Dibling’s replacement at Southampton could be Everton target Tom Fellows

The Scotsman must be frustrated at the Championship club’s demands, as not too long ago, the 19-year-old was placed with a £35 million asking price.

Nevertheless, Will Still’s side don’t seem to be backing down, and whilst this is happening, they are up to their own business.

TEAMtalk are suggesting that Tom Fellows is now on Southampton’s radar if a deal for Dibling can be struck with Everton.

This could now have Moyes in two minds as Everton have looked ‘likely’ to sign Fellows this window.

The West Brom winger is one of the 62-year-old’s targets high up on the list, and this puts the Toffees in a dilemma.

Obviously, Dibling remains the main choice, but Everton have a big decision to make.

David Moyes now has to pick between risky or safe option for Everton

So far, there has been nothing concrete with the West Brom star, but Fellows seems to have always lingered around Everton’s plans.

Not only is he more experienced than Dibling, but Fellows would cost £20 million after the Toffees supposedly tried to sign him in January.

The 22-year-old has done more in his career than Dibling so far, so it could suggest it’s the safer option for the Blues.

The Southampton starlet obviously comes with promise, but £50 million is no doubt a risk when a cheaper option, and possibly a better option in Fellows is available.

What Moyes has to do now is take his time and think to himself whether the risk is worth it, or if a move for Fellows before the Saints get there first is a more sensible decision.
