Jerry Reynolds praises Isaac Jones, questions Sacramento’s interest in Westbrook

Former Sacramento Kings head coach, general manager, and broadcaster Jerry Reynolds joined The Drive Guys on Thursday to discuss Sacramento’s first offseason under new management.

General manager Scott Perry has consistently stated a desire to build an identity in the coming 2025-26 NBA season.

With continued rumors surrounding future Hall of Fame point guard Russell Westbrook headed to California’s capital, Reynolds expressed his confusion in their desired interest.

Despite those rumors, the Kings are still lacking forward depth. After Keegan Murray, they currently roster the likes of Doug McDermott, Dario Saric, and second-year undrafted forward/big man Isaac Jones.

Reynolds is optimistic about Jones’ potential impact, even saying he reminds him of Kenneth Faried.

“I would like to see Isaac Jones have a significant role,” he said. “I’d be amazed if he weren’t productive playing some five as well as some four.”
