Commanders star posts video denying involvement in fight during Pats joint practice

After it was initially reported that he may have been one of the inciting members of the Patriots/Commanders joint practice scuffle on Wednesday, Von Miller took to Instagram to set the record straight Thursday night.

In a since deleted post on X, Boston Herald reporter Zack Cox, wrote “TreVeyon Henderson took a Commanders pass rusher (possibly Von Miller) to the ground in pass pro, and the two started scuffling on the ground.”

Upon seeing this, Miller uploaded a video of the incident recorded by a fan on his Instagram page, that showed him casually walking to the mob of players once the fight started, not at the bottom of it.

Miller circles himself in his number 24 jersey in the video then precedes to zoom in and provide his own commentary.

“I got slammed, Zack come on man,” Miller said. “Y’all want to me fight so bad huh? Y’all wanna see me fight? Y’all wanna see 36-year-old Von Miller fight?

“Tune in week 1 versus the Giants. Let’s go Commanders!”

After seeing the video himself, Cox issued a correction and an apology to Miller.

“Yeah, this was a miss on my part,” Cox wrote on his X account. “Apologies to Von.”

Miller is in his first season with the Commanders, signing a one-year, $6.1 million contract with the team in July.

Friday night the Patriots and Commanders will face off in a preseason game at Gillette Stadium at 7:30 p.m.. Prior to the start of the game, at 6 p.m., New England will unveil a bronze statue of Tom Brady in Patriot Place Plaza.
