Real Madrid 'working on 2026 move' for £78m PSG superstar

Real Madrid are reportedly planning to make a move for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Vitinha next summer.

The Portugal international was outstanding for PSG during the 2024-25 campaign, and he is believed to have been identified by Real Madrid as the ideal addition to their midfield.

A deal this summer is seen as incredibly unlikely due to the numbers involved, but according to Marca, Xabi Alonso's side are planning to make a move for the 25-year-old during next summer's transfer window.

The report claims that Vitinha is expected to be available for €90m (£78m) next year, which is a figure that Real Madrid would be willing to go to in order to bring him to the Spanish capital.

Los Blancos are already believed to be putting a plan in place to move for the Portuguese, with the capital team willing to wait 12 months in order to land their top target in that area of the field.

Real Madrid 'planning 2026 move' for Vitinha

Vitinha has scored 19 goals and registered 14 assists in 153 appearances for PSG in all competitions, with the midfielder making the move to the French capital from Porto in the summer of 2022.

He was in terrific form for PSG last term, as Luis Enrique's side won Ligue 1 and the Champions League, starring alongside Joao Neves and Fabian Ruiz in a midfield three.

Real Madrid have thus far decided against signing a new midfielder this summer despite the fact that Luka Modric has departed, with the Croatia international not being offered a new contract at Bernabeu.

Three defenders and one attacker have instead been the club's summer signings, and it remains to be seen whether they enter the market for a central midfielder before the deadline.

Would Vitinha be a good signing for Real Madrid?

Vitinha was one of the outstanding midfielders in world football during the 2024-25 campaign, and he was also excellent for the French and European champions at the 2025 Club World Cup.

Real Madrid need to bring in a new technician in the middle of midfield, and Vitinha fits the bill, but he will not come cheap, and Los Blancos need to decide whether they are willing to pay €90m (£78m) for his signature.

Much will depend on how the Portuguese performs during the current season, but he has more than enough quality to be a superstar in the middle of the Real Madrid midfield in the years to come.
