Jaren Jackson Jr. will no longer wear #13 for the Grizzlies

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The NBA season will be kicking off in just a couple of months, and one Grizzlie’s star will be switching jersey numbers for the first time in his career.

Jaren Jackson Jr. announced on Instagram that he will be switching from #13 to #8.

The number change will be in honor of his dad, Jaren Jackson Sr., who played 13 years in the NBA. Jackson Sr. is the current assistant basketball coach at Incarnate Word.

The All-Star forward wore #13 for all seven seasons as he and the Memphis squad look to make a run next year in the NBA Playoffs.
