The 5 Best Young Premier League Players Still Available in the 2025 Summer Transfer Market

Generally, young players don’t get sold from top teams in the Premier League as easily, and so there aren’t as many players being actively shopped in the English top flight at this stage in the transfer window.

Most of the top young players available have already been snapped up. Chelsea bagged strikers Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, Arsenal brought in Noni Madueke from Chelsea, and even Tottenham got in the act by plucking Mohammed Kudus from London rivals West Ham.

But here are five young Premier League players of the age of 25 or younger who could still make a move before the summer 2025 transfer window ends on Monday, September 1.

5. Manchester United ST Rasmus Hojlund

Rasmus Hojlund was one of the most exciting prospects in Serie A, but he moved far too soon to a club with high pressure. And in the end, he chose the wrong club, too, as Manchester United simply don’t have the playing style or infrastructure for a forward like Hojlund to succed.

Still just 22 years old, Hojlund is being actively shopped by Man United with Benjamin Sesko set to join the club as the out-and-out goal-scorer to counterbalance 2024 Serie A signing Joshua Zirkzee, who is the tall all-arounder linking play.

AC Milan looks like the most logical landing spot for Hojlund on a loan deal, and if he can shine there, which is an opportunity very much there for the taking, then a permanent deal will be all but a formality. Manchester United don’t want him.

4. Chelsea ST Nicolas Jackson

Chelsea signed Liam Delap and Joao Pedro as two very different but equally intriguing profiles at the striker position, and already at the 2025 Club World Cup, both players looked like a better options than Nicolas Jackson.

Actually, Jackson was better for Chelsea than prior, improving in the 2024/25 season by working harder to make up for his lack of finishing chops. Jackson isn’t good enough to be the guy in London, but Chelsea can still use him as a backup if nobody meets their insane asking price of 80 million euros.

Most likely, nobody will be desperate enough to pay that amount of money for Jackson, but he is there for the taking if anyone in the Premier League, like Tottenham, feels like gambling on a player who does admittedly have a rare blend of physical tools.

3. Manchester United AM Alejandro Garnacho

Speaking of a rare blend of physical tools, Alejandro Garnacho is a special player athletically. Like his unwanted teammate Rasmus Hojlund, who is also one heck of an athlete, Garnacho is probably going to find his landing spot soon.

Per Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea and Garnacho have already agreed to personal terms. Garnacho is a frustratingly inconsistent player, but he’s also 21 and can be scary good if he puts it all together.

2. Brighton CM Carlos Baleba

Carlos Baleba is unlikely to move this summer since Brighton have set a transfer fee of 104 million pounds as the minimum in order to pry their latest breakout midfield star from them.

But Brighton did get more than that out of Moises Caicedo from Chelsea just a couple of years ago, and you can make a serious case that Baleba is just as good, since he contributes even more on the attacking end.

Last season, the 21-year-old Cameroonian international averaged 2.4 dribbles completed and fouls drawn per game with 3.7 combined tackles and interceptions per game, making him one of the best box-to-box midfielders in the Premier League.

If he’s already one of the best at 21, then imagine what he can do at 24. You can see why Brighton value Baleba so highly, and you can also see why a club like Manchester United might just come around to spending that kind of crazy money on him in the future.

1. Newcastle ST Alexander Isak

Alexander Isak has been pushing his way out the door at St. James’s Park in the hopes of landing a transfer to Premier League champions Liverpool, and while such a move seems unlikely at this juncture with a 150 million pound fee floated around as the record total required to acquire him, it’s not an impossibility.

The best striker in the Premier League last season – yes, even above fellow Scandinavian superstar Erling Haaland over at Manchester City – Isak would be an embarrassment of riches for Liverpool.

Newcastle aren’t actively selling Isak, but the 25-year-old No. 9 is still very much the best available young(er) player on the transfer market because he himself is trying to score a move. Though, at this time, he only seems to be willing to jump ship to the biggest vessel in England currently.
