It initially seemed like Manchester United would have to be careful with their transfer business this summer and pick and choose where to spent their money on new signings.

However, something seems to have changed with Sir Jim Ratcliffe & co. in recent weeks with the club going all out to secure all their transfer targets ahead of the new season.

The club have already wrapped up deals for both Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha and it looks like RB Leipzig star attacker Benjamin Sesko is also on his way to the club.

It emerged yesterday that Manchester United were interested in signing Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Carlos Baleba. Now, as per Fabrizio Romano on Give Me Sport, the 21-year-old wants to move to Old Trafford this summer.

As per the Metro, an initial bid of around £90m from the Red Devils would be sufficient for Brighton to sell the Cameroonian international this summer. Baleba has performed very well for the Seagulls in the past couple of seasons.

Brighton want a package deal of around £100m for the youngster, with £90m being the fixed fee and £10m being add-ons. United however value Baleba closer to £70m.

For now, it has been mentioned that all parties understand the deal is quite unrealistic. However, Man Utd continue to be interested in signing the talented midfielder and allow Ruben Amorim to use him in midfield.

The Portuguese tactician does have options like Casemiro, Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo to play in that position but Baleba would offer something very different. He will definitely be an upgrade on the Uruguayan midfielder, who has not settled in since his arrival from PSG last summer.

Baleba would be an excellent signing for the Red Devils. Let’s wait and see how things play out on this front in the coming days.
