Patriots legend gets promotion, more TV airtime in 2025

Rob Gronkowski has been promoted to a full-time gig on the FOX NFL Sunday panel.

The legendary Patriots tight end had been a part-time guest in the past, and is now replacing Hall of Famer Jimmy Johnson, who is retiring at 82. Gronkowski will be joined by host Curt Menefee, Terry Bradshaw, Michael Strahan and Howie Long on the panel.

In addition to his TV work on FOX, Gronkowski has been hosting his “Dudes on Dudes” podcast alongside Julian Edelman. The former Patriots recently landed Robert Kraft as a guest, and the team owner said there’s a permanent reminder of Gronkowski’s fun-loving nature at Gillette Stadium.

After New England’s sixth Super Bowl victory, the Patriots were honored at Fenway Park. Gronkowski picked up one of the Lombardi Trophies and used it like a bat to hit the baseball — denting the top of the trophy in the process.

Kraft opted not to get it fixed and the dent is still on display to this day.

“I thought, we’re going to have Gronk’s memory for the history of the Patriots,” Kraft said. “I said, ‘we’re leaving it.’ So if anyone comes up to Patriots Place to visit us, we show you that trophy with the dent. It sort of speaks about everything these two (Gronkowski and Edelman) were.

“We gotta have a good time in life. These two guys are the best and when they were on our team there was a level of high spirit and positive vibes that was awesome.”
