‘Punches Thrown’ By Teammates At 1 NFL Practice

A heated joint practice between the Miami Dolphins and Chicago Bears turned chaotic when a sideline altercation forced one head coach to step in as peacemaker.

What started as competitive preseason work quickly escalated into multiple confrontations that required intervention.

The most concerning part for Miami came from its sideline.

Linebackers Jordyn Brooks and Tyrel Dodson, competing for key defensive roles, got into a physical confrontation away from the main action.

“‘The Dolphins defense is fighting the Dolphins defense. Punches thrown. We can only see Jordyn Brooks was involved. Can’t see who else,’ Omar Kelly wrote,” Dov Kleiman wrote on X.

The trouble began during a red zone period between Miami’s offense and Chicago’s defense.

Dolphins wide receiver Dee Eskridge and Bears safety Kevin Byard got into a shoving match that seemed to calm down.

But tensions flared again when Dolphins center Aaron Brewer faced off with Bears cornerback Tyrique Stevenson.

The situation got worse when Eskridge jumped back into the mix, prompting Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel to rush over and restore order.

Even Tyreek Hill, who was watching practice due to an oblique injury, moved quickly to help break up the scuffle, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

The teams are likely hoping to channel this intensity in a more productive direction.

The Dolphins and Bears face each other in their preseason opener, where the focus will shift to translating this fiery energy into disciplined football rather than sideline brawls.
