Von Miller will always be an all-time great member of the Denver Broncos.
The Super Bowl 50 MVP is easily a top-10 player in franchise history, maybe even in the top-5.
But as the years pass and the Broncos are finally good again, Miller is having a bit of a tough time watching from afar.
He got another ring with the Los Angeles Rams, had a decent run with the Buffalo Bills and now plays on a championship contender with the Washington Commanders.
But we know Von Miller loves talking about the Broncos, and it happened again on Friday when the massive podcast “Pardon My Take” dropped a new episode.
Miller’s whole interview is worth watching, but his comments starting at the 2:03:27 mark that are the most interesting.

“Being away from Denver, at first, it’s like ‘yeah I’m on a new team,’ as time goes by you just miss those days,” Von Miller said.
The Broncos traded Miller all the way back in November of 2021, so we’re going on four years. Still, he was drafted No. 2 overall by Denver in the 2011 NFL Draft and played more than nine seasons in orange and blue. He was hurt in 2020, but lived more than a decade in the Mile High City.
“I spent so much time in Denver, man. They’re doing so many good things with that organization. Building a new facility, new stadium and everything is just going crazy,” Miller said.
Nothing is official on the new stadium front, although there are rumblings, but that’s just Miller being Miller. He then launched into an analogy about the Broncos like only he can.
“They’ve got a good team now. You’re just like ‘damn, man.’ It’s like seeing your old girlfriend with a new guy and she’s happy,” Miller said. “And now she’s starting to get in shape, she’s starting to look good now and she’s bouncing back.”
The Broncos are indeed bouncing back. They made the playoffs last season for the time since 2015, ironically losing to Miller and the Bills in the wild card round.
Now, some people think they’re a dark-horse Super Bowl team in 2025. Of course, Von Miller plays for a Washington team that’s in the same camp.
How fitting would it be if the Broncos and Commanders met in Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium, the site of Miller’s heroics in Super Bowl 50?
That would be poetic. And it sounds like, deep down, Von Miller might wish he was on the other sideline.
