Breaking: 49ers Shockingly Lose 62-Game Playmaker For Brock Purdy (Report)

The San Francisco 49ers are in the midst of a controversial off-season. Coming off a season that saw them finish 6-10, one year after appearing in the Super Bowl, has left a sour taste in many of their players’ mouths. The team is certainly hungry to prove to the league that they’re ready to compete.

However, there’s one veteran wide receiver who won’t be there to help anytime soon.

According to Matt Barrows of The Athletic:

49ers re-signed QB Tanner Mordecai and placed WR Equanimeous St. Brown on IR.

In July, the San Francisco 49ers announced the signing of WR Equanimeous St. Brown to a one-year contract.

St. Brown (6-5, 214) was originally drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the sixth round (207th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft. Throughout his six-year NFL career with the Packers (2018-21), Chicago Bears (2022-23) and New Orleans Saints (2024), he has appeared in 62 games (28 starts) and registered 63 receptions for 928 yards (14.7 average) and two touchdowns.

He has also appeared in three postseason contests (one start) with the Packers and recorded two receptions for 37 yards (18.5 average). In 2024, St. Brown spent time on the Saints practice squad and appeared in two games.
